After the summer I am beginning on a graphic designer education and I am thinking about an iPad Air + Adobe Ink & Slide for sketching instead of paper and pencils/markers to keep it simple and easy.

What do you think of that resolution?

Your professor will likely choose the tools and materials for your projects. Most programs still start students ideation with paper and pencil.

You may also look like a student who is more into the tech then the design when you show up on the first day.

Good luck and have fun in school!

Likely true. Personally I think its crazy not to work digitally. Both the ipad and the adobe tools impose serious limitations. Check out a surface pro 3 or wacom companion with sketchbook pro. Try you tube for example workflow videos.

surface pro 1 now selling used for under $400--a great tool.

The adobe tools are really sort of a giimmick. If your committed to the ipad--look at "paper53"--its a
fun sketch app

good luck
