My ipad air, 1st generation, barely holds a charge anymore. We pretty much have to leave it plugged in all the time. Is it worth it to replace the battery....do you think this machine will keep up with the next few years of ios updates and new apps or is it getting there and we should just not spend any money on it? TY

How much does a battery replacement cost?

If it’s $100 or more, I’d say just buy a 6th Gen iPad. With an A7 chip and 1GB of RAM, I don’t think a first Gen Air is worth investing much money to maintain at this point.

I can get one online for $40 but I would have to install it myself of course.

The 6th gen is the latest one, right?
