iPad Air II to MacBook Air

I've had various iPad's for as long as I can remember.
Lately, I've seriously been considering replacing my iPad with a MacBook Air (I have an iMac and iPhone already).

Over time, typing long things (posting on forums, mainly) via the iPad, is a little tiresome.
Has anyone made a similar switch?

I'm not a huge fan of typing on most BT keyboards for iPads, and they tend to be just a litlle finnicky. The Smart Keyboard for the pro (and probably the other one that's uses the smart connector) is a much better experience imo.

It's hard to replace a full sized keyboard though.
