I just did an experiment with my new iPad Air M1. I used a USB-C hub and connected my Canon M6 Mark II and decided to only use my iPad as a video production system. My editor of choice was Lumafusion (still playing with DaVinci Resolve). I had the iPad connected to my 4K monitor. I used Camo Studio to do the recording, as it’s the closest to OBS.

Despite all the hype, my new iPad Air M1 held its own. I was able to record and edit a 9-minute video. Export time at 1080p was almost 3 times the frame rate. At 4K, almost twice the frame rate of the video.
I think I’ll be keeping this iPad the foreseeable future.

I also use Lumafusion and Davinci (paid for Studio, but still mainly use Lumafusion). The advatange of Lumafusion for me is that it's available on Android too and I have an Android smartphone for filming so I also edit on my Tab S9. Do you use external storage for exports?

For now no but that will quickly change as I have the base iPad Air M1. I have a 500gb external ssd just in mind for the next step.
