iPad iPad Air M2 swipe issue

I have just upgraded from iPad 10 to iPad Air M2 and I have noticed an issue with swipe up gesture. When my iPad is inserted into a silicon case, sometimes it does not respond to the swipe up gesture with my finger. However, it seems to work perfectly fine when it is not in the silicon case or when I have it in my hands. The swipe up gesture works ok on my iPad 10 so I am surprised this is an issue with my M2 Air. Has anyone experienced similar issue? I have noticed that it is way much better now after I have removed the screen protector.
