I have an iPad air and I want to hook it up to my NEC tv using HDMI. I cannot get it to mirror to the TV.
So far I have tried :
  1. rebooting the iPad
  2. changing the input using the menu on the TV and the remote control
  3. Switch HMDI ports in the back.
Nothing seems to be working. I would love to hear from someone that got it to work. Thanks in advance.

You could have a bad hdmi cable or a bad hdmi-to-lightning dongle. I use my ipad for work which involves connecting my ipad to at least 5 different tvs a day. Just plug it in and it works.

you could also go the apple tv route to mirror wirelessly

Get a new HDMI cable.
