I’ve been using a mini for years and to be honest, it’s getting difficult to read. As such, I was about to pull the trigger on an iPad Air when I saw todays announcement. Seems to me that it would just make sense to buy the new iPad Pro 11 with the marginal better stats. Any suggestions?

Depends on what youll be using it for. Personally ProMotion alone is worth the upgrade cost, but I notice stuff like that and not everyone does.

For size I would recommend the 12.9 pro and the mini led screen but it would be used differently than the mini. I would suggest you look at last years iPad Pro 11 with the M1 chip, they should have better discounts.

Yeah I think the 13 inch is just too big. This really isn’t a financial decision for me. A couple hundred bucks here or there won’t bother me… I think I might have just answered my own question. Outside of cost.. there isn’t any drawback to choosing the 11 pro.

You will love the pro to be honest. The air is not bad but they lack pro motion and Face ID. I have an Air 4 with a case the fingerprint reader on the power button is a pain vs Face ID on the 12.9 pro I have. It’s one of those little things that just adds up when using constantly. My replacement for the Air 4 will be a pro for sure. It’s the little things that just add up.

The iPad Pro 11 (either M1 or M2) is a better choice for the ProMotion, FaceID, and more RAM. I don’t know if there will be differentiation between the M1 and M2 going forward — I would probably just get the M2 since discounts on the M1 are just about $100 anyways.

Air 5 has same M1+8GB RAM now.

I find the power button TouchID less reliable than the home button TouchID so for that, we're opting for the iPad Pro with FaceID.
