When will the iPad “Pro” support external displays?

If I try to “stream” movies to my 4K Samsung TV, the screen ratio is garbage. I can stream 4K movies from my computers without a single problem to my TV.

It does already stream to tv or monitors at the correct ratios. How are you trying to ‘stream’ it? As you’re putting it in inverted commas I assume it’s a non standard way?

On MAC, I use DLNA/UPnP software to stream movies. Or Airplay 2 works too, but it is lower quality.

If I select Airplay 2 on the iPad, it only sends the audio to my TV. So the only option that works then is “screen mirroring”, which has a bad screen ratio.

The technology is there, because the iPad can stream embedded videos from websites to my TV correctly if I click the Airplay button.

But I posted this in the wrong forum, so it will get deleted by a mod soon.

Mirroring obviously mirrors, so that’s never going to work. But I don’t seem to have the trouble you’re having. That said, I’m happy with AirPlay streaming.

What app are you using on the iPad? Most video players will stream the video's correct aspect ratio, but some will only screen mirror, which of course is whatever ratio the iPad's screen is.
