Ipad and ATV

Hi everyone
I wanna buy an ATV, the black one with no HDD. I've seen that I can use some third party apps to watch movies from my MBA, and that's important for me. Besides I wanted to know, if i use airplay from an ipad or even the MBA and I have it connected to my TV via HDMI i can listen to my music
. OK, so i have an old home theater system, which i use with a common 3.5 mm audio conector, how can i use it to listen some music? does atv have a specific connector for that, or can i use it via LCD TV, in which case i assume i'll have to leave tv on, which is not very comfortable, but still acceptable. Thanks.

so i connect the atv to that device, and that device to my hom theater? I put my thread in another way, i don't want to get a new audio system. Ideally i shound get a zeppelin!
