How do you guys view Instagram? It’s very surprising that there’s not an app for iPad. Any 3rd party recommendations?

I don’t view on the iPad. Simples. It is a bit weird that Instagram never supported iPad.

lol uhhhh I have Instagram on my iPad what are you guys talking about?

OP is asking about Instagram app that is designed for the large screen of an ipad. Not the stupid version that was made for the iPhone. When you install the “iPhone” version on the iPad, the Instagram app can only be used in portrait mode and at a lower resolution. Basically, it looks like crap. I can’t believe you don’t immediately notice when an app was designed for iPad versus simply installing the “iPhone” version.

Yeah, i find it pretty shocking that instagram hasn't come out with an ipad app yet either. I often like to view or edit my iphone photos on my ipad's bigger screen using Instagram, and i always find it annoying that there isn't a dedicated app for the iPad yet. I would love to be able to use instagram in landscape mode etc on the ipad. It really boggles my mind why they haven't released an ipad version yet.

I just google search “Instagram app” and download it on my iPad through the App Store link... only downside is it has to be view in portrait mode, luckily I use it on my iPad Mini 4 so its less cumbersome.

Kallum.

Surprisingly, it looks very crisp and clear on the iPad Pro 12.9 gen 2, while on my iPad Air it looks a bit blurry

No one carries his iPad around, takes pics and puts them on gram. As for the viewing pics part I do understand though. Would be sweet on my Pro.

There’s a 3rd party app called Padview that has a proper iPad interface and is pretty nice. Makes no sense there isn’t a proper iPad app though. :|

The app Padview is no longer available. Facebook bought Instagram. Who knows why Facebook hasn’t developed the app for iPad?

I bet, the iPP 12.9” has such a nice display. I can get it on any iPad too, I just figured putting it on my 13” iPP would be a little annoying having to turn it constantly. I hate using my iPads in anything but Landscape mode.

Didn’t see that app on the app store
Keep looking for work-arounds, I’m sure there’s a place to get it.

Interesting.. Looks like he pulled Padview because it offered too many non-approved IG features like saving images etc. Same reasons Flume was removed from the Mac App Store. (I love flume)

He's released https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id1118324872?mt=8 which seems like Padview but with some features turned off.

Wow! I still use the Padview app on my iPad Pro. I really like it. I didn’t realize it was no longer available from the App Store. I’m having a few issues with it tho. When I try to comment on a pic the text bar doesn’t show up. I can still type and post a comment but I just have to trust that I typed it correct since I can’t see the text bar. Strangely, it doesn’t always do that but most of the time it does.

Much to the chagrin of many other tourists, there are a lot of people these days who do indeed carry their iPad around to take photos. To me, it’s ridiculous, but it’s quite common especially within the Asian tourism community.

Whether they’re then putting it on Insta is anyone’s guess, but I still agree with a lot of sentiment in here that it’s strange the app doesn’t support iPad after all these years. Of course if you are just wanting to browse you can use Safari to do so, but it’s not as seamless as an app would be.

I was looking for it too. I had it on my old iPad and wanted to put it back. My reason for adding to the iPad is for when I take a photo with a real camera and after uploading to my iPad I wanted to share my pics on Instagram. So I guess now I will have to upload to my iPad then share with my iPhone and then transfer to Instagram. I get it but some will want to go another route.

If you guys want Instagram on your iPad just open up the App Store on your iPad search for Instagram and in the upper right corner you should see the word 'Filters', tap on that and tap 'Supports' and change it to 'iPhone Only' and then you'll see Instagram is available for download to your iPad

You can also just go to Instagram on safari and watch stories, upload pics, scroll through feed, and it looks decent. Not sure if you can upload stories
