Alright... This is bound to come up at some point, but I need a reason to justify buying an iPad now!! So, Textbooks?? Have any of the major textbook publishing companies signed a deal with Apple? I am in college and will be for six more years. I am quite certain I will develop a hunch by the time I graduate. If only someone would create a device that could store them all in say a one and and a half pound package. Oh wait... The iPad! What it boils down to is this. I want to use the iPad for school; note taking, lecture recording, and something to use while my computer is busy with CAD business. The deal breaker here though is whether or not I will be able to buy most of my books and have them on the iPad. That way all I have to carry in my backpack is this sweet little beauty! Also, what would the price point be for said textbooks? Will they set their own price like they do with regular paper textbooks? Sorry for rambling, I just need help making my decision and not regretting it later. Thanks for you help!!

I used CourseSmart on my MBP last semester. Thank God I got my book on my comp. We had open book tests, so all I had to do was type the word and it highlighted everything i typed. (think cmd F).
CorseSmart is only for the iPhone right now, but I saw a like before and it looks like they will update it. I'd hold off a bit for the iPad.
I do want an iPad to be a all in one textbook and pencil and paper, but right now, it doesn't currently have either.

Does anyone know when textbooks are going to become available in the iBookstore? And also if the prices will be 50% off like coursesmart.

Reading textbooks is one of the main reasons I bought an iPad, for now coursesmart app is available and I have several classes that require textbooks that can be used with this app.
