Is there a way to use the iPad as a second display on a computer that doesn’t have wireless? I want to use it alongside my work pc.

Unfortunately, not at the moment. To start, there isn't even a second screen iPad system for windows yet. The other issue is somehow getting the video out from a PC via a wire into the iPad. Not only is this not supported, someone would have to dream up some sort of VGA (or other) to dock connector cable. I know apple sell one, but it's not for that purpose.

Sorry to disappoint you. :(

A second monitor for your Mac, when you're on your Grownup Computer: That's a perfect use for the 1024x768 iPad, and exactly what some apps (You can search relational apps by the google) iDisplay lets you do.
The concept and execution are equally simple: Your iPad serves as a secondary display for your Mac (and only your Mac), by leveraging a transparent VNC server and an artificial second monitor. Run the server app on your computer, run the client app on your iPad, arrange the displays in your OS X settings, and you've got an instant second monitor.

For shame

I guess I'll just have to wait to go perm for that second monitor. Thanks for the confirmation.
