iPad ipad battery/charging problems after update

updated the ipad to 14.4 last week ever since i've done this i've had problems charging the ipad

the charge icon is there but the battery % doesn't increase i've noticed if i reboot the ipad this solves the problem and the battery level increases but after awhile this stops and to get it working again i have to reboot sometimes it takes several reboots. I'm using the plug and cable that came with the ipad last year.

I have the magic keyboard for the ipad and it doesn't seem to able to charge when its docked i can't charge using the keyboard usb c port i have to use the ipad usb c to charge.

anyone else having problems with charging after the new update ?

Selective USB-C charging behaviour is never a good sign. Maybe just a problem with your Magic Keyboard? Do you have other USB-C peripherals like a memory stick to connect directly to test your iPad? There are some known incompatibilities when charging through the magic keyboard, e.g. you need a 18 W brick like the one from Apple and there are some cable even from brands like Anker which will not work with the MK.

it seems to be charging correctly now so i'll keep and eye on it i'm using the ipad usb c connection to charge it.

i'm using the cable and brick that came with the ipad. its less than a year old and the magic keyboard was bought whenever it was released last may was it.

I do charge the ipad during the day as i use it for work at home and its probably used a good 12+ hours per day the fact this started happening after the software update made me think that this was a bug but with no one replying saying they have the same i'm starting to think its not hmm

i know apple are good when it comes to faults but the last thing i want to do is return anything the stores aren't even open here at the moment.

Have you tried returning it online?
