My battery drains even while charging. Is that normal? I have the new pro 12.9 wifi.

Also, does it work if i connect a charger to the magic keyboard to have both chargers providing power?

I love the tablet, but the battery drain is crazy. Ive been using procreate, youtube, and safari.

I don’t see such battery drain on mine.
I’d suggest you to update to iPadOS 14.6 and see if it fixes the problem.

I already updated it. Same thing.
That’s weird.. I’d suggest you to check out with Apple for this issue and see if there is any problem with your particular unit. Of course if it’s still in the return window you may return and try another one.

Quick update. I had my iPad plugged in (not with the power adapter that comes with the iPad) for 2hours and lost 30%.
It was WiFi on only. No Bluetooth. The only app in use was Streamlabs obs controller. Is this normal?

Do you have anything downloading (considering it is new)? I had the same issue on my 2020 IPP and it was music downloading but sort of stuck! I think it was the U2 album that I had chosen to delete but it kept trying to download.

In the end I had to not delete it, it ended up with the album on the iPad twice, weird bold and light grey versions!!

Nope. I was just using it to switch the cameras. If you see the Streamlabs obs controller it literally is a static screen.

Nope. I will do it again tomorrow with the normal charger. I suspect the same result since i had the same issue with the original charger.
If the other charger power delivery has no voltage matching the iPad it may revert to 5 volt charging which may not be enough to offset the iPad pro 12.9 power consumption

I don’t know how, but the issue is gone. Using the provided charger and the cheaper one. I did drain the battery 100 to zero. Then I manually turned it off.
