iPad bricked, Error 28

Well after several update attempts i'm convinced my iPad is bricked. I'm getting tons of error 28's and sometimes errors for incorrect build, and a few internal errors. It's stuck at the recovery screen and has been ever since the first update attempt. It will start the update, get to the screen with the apple logo and progress bar, and then poop out. I have a genius bar appointment today so hopefully they can help me out.
 
I called apple and they told me i need to bring it in for service. Error 28 indicates hardware failure :(
