Hi everyone,

I purchased an iPad (Wi-Fi 64gb) and want to review it for my site. But I noticed quickly that the volume button and the screen orientation button aren't inserted as firmly into the body as with the iPhone.

I can wiggle them a little when I put a finger on it. Can someone confirm that this is normal or not? I'm a little worried if it's just me. It's not a big problem but I fear it could get worse over time. And above that I don't want to address it in the review if it's just my model.

Thanks

It's normal for it to wiggle JUST A TINY bit. But if it's wiggling, you can just go exchange it for a brand new iPad. The problem is if you wait a long time till its not working, Apple might consider you broke it and isn't enough for a warranty claim.

Mine moves a tiny bit. So much so that I hadn't noticed it until I tested for this post. Unless there is some serious issue that you think it could break, I'd say it's normal. :)

It's not a lot. I can't see it, just feel it. In a quiet room I can also hear it when I wiggle, as if the button hits the aluminum borders. Can someone confirm that this noise is audible?

Returning it is a little difficult for me. The iPad isn't out yet (Netherlands) so I'd have to wait for it to come out. On top of that there's no Apple store where I live so I'd have to send it somewhere using the Apple website probably?

Mine does exactly what you are describing so I think it is normal.

Sent firm my iPad

Wiggle here as you describe. Not audible to me. My theory: it's intentional. I know here were some problems with iPhones volume buttons getting stuck. It happened to me on my g2. Sometimes it happened to people that dropped their phone but other times it just stuck on it's own. My theory maybe wrong, of course. Just a guess, really.

Mine is pretty much completely solid..which I didn't really notice until now. My 3GS had a lot of wiggle.

I'm going back and forth here. Could it be that Apple is just unable to produce a good amount of identical products. As 50 per cent seems to have the "issue".
