Just back from the Apple Store Fair Oaks and got myself the elusive Camera Connection Kit

They still had about 10 left when i left a half hour ago.

I saw some guy on eBay selling it from the UK and the bid was on £75...

Lucky. I've been to every apple store in the area multiple times in the past week looking for one. Not a sign of one.

I found that calling the stores to find out if they have any of the hard to find items works best. So far with the Apple Store Fair Oaks store I have found that with the Apple iPad Case and the Camera Connection Kit that pleading with them to hold it while I make the 20-30 minute drive over to them has helped.

With the case Jessica was hesitant at first - but in a friendly way I joked that I would be upset to make the drive and it being sold out... she went off to a manager I guess (maybe Jim the GM at the store) - in the end it worked out. Same today with the Camera Connection Kit

The Reston, VA store had about five after I bought mine a few minutes ago.

They were well-supplied with accessories in general, with the notable exception of the Apple case.

My school bookstore just stocked up well on docks, camera kits, and cases. 25 or so of each. My poor student-ness overrides my not wanting to be a reseller. Grabbed 11 cases and already sold on Amazon.
