I am syncing a US iPad to my UK iTunes and keep getting errors,
'The iPad cannot be synced. An unknown error has occurred (-48)'.
and
'The iPad cannot be synced. An internal device error occurred'
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
Thanks

Could it be as the ipad isn't available in the uk yet that uk itunes, doesn't recognise it, may be an update will be released after it becomes available here.

Unable to sync iPad

Just received my 32gb iPad and appear to have the same problem, your post was a couple of weeks ago did you manage to sort the problem out?

Had the same error this morning, and was able to get everything going again by reinstalling iTunes and restarting my computer.

You will most likely have to do a RESTORE though, so I hope you haven't been hitting the X to cancel the backup.

This version of the iPad software is a bit flakey, and I've had to do resets probably about 5 times in 17 days now. Not too great... :(

Had my iPad for 3 weeks now, shipped from US. Wifi 16GB model. Never experienced any issues syncing to iTunes on my iMac.

Have you Jailbreaked your iPad?

No jailbreak here. We're not the only ones... scan through some of the posts here and on other boards. There have been crashes, but that IS expected with the first version of a system like this.

No worries.

Have sorted on going problem with not being able to sync with iTunes, I was getting lots of warning notices. After a very lengthy conversation with a nice chap at the Mac call centre, he ran through many things, about an hours worth, and determined that i needed to remove some other power drains from my Mac, due to the fact that the iPad draws a lot of power from the Mac to sync, after removing external hard drive and printer we performed a sync and it worked with no problems. Result.

In general...

Those having problems please specify which version of iTunes and which operating system. It is hard to ascertain assistance if you do not provide those you are asking it from, with full information.

All we can do in such circumstance is guess or post unhelpful info such as it works for me :D

(oh it works for me by the way ;))

@ S Keech, glad you got it working. Enjoy your iPad.
