ipad Data plan for Canada

I am buying a 3g ipad tomorrow, and wanted t know something about data plans. I already have an extra wireless line with rogers, which has the 500 mb BIS plan, but i no longer use this line, but since i am in contract i am paying the 30$ a month. i called rogers to ask if i could just switch this to an ipad data plan and they said no. i have read about early adopters buying ipads in US and using them in canada on 3g but nowhere is it mentioned on what plan. can someone let me know exactly what plan i should switch my data to? currently i have voice completely deactived on that line but i guess thats ok for an ipad. someone please let me know how i can use my curent wireless data plan rather than sprinign for an additional one.
