iPad data plan limit

Steve Jobs said in his presentation yesterday AT&T would be providing the 3g with one option being a $14.99 250mb plan. My question is what happens when you hit the 250mb limit? Does it stop working? Do they charge you overage? I don't see that happening though because it's prepaid. Thoughts on this?

If the current data plans apply for say laptop users, they will charge you for overages. I don't recall the amounts but for example. Every 10mb over is 1.00 or something, I don't' know and we won't likely know until we sign up. The good news is, if you find yourself using more than 250mb, you can simply pay for the unlimited plan the next month. There is NO CONTRACT. You can start and stop service at ANY time. It is basically a "pre paid" data plan. Purchase 30 days and use data, then cancel or pay for another 30 days.

Jobs said it was a prepaid service. That would mean, based the precedent set by other types of prepaid services, that after you run out of credit you simply stop getting service.

Here's what I'd like to know:
If you use up your 250 MB, you might pay a second $15 to top-up another 250 MB to serve you for the remainder of the month. At that point you will have paid the same amount as you would have paid for the unlimited service.

It would be really cool if AT&T simply treated that second $15 top-up as an automatic upgrade to unlimited data for the remainder of the month.

Yeah, and it would be cool to be able to go to the moon for a day trip too. Seriously, there is no advantage for ATT do to that. If they did then everyone would just buy the $15 plan.

Won't it be pretty easy to breeze through 250 mb?

How many mb's would you use by just watching an HD youtube video?

I can't see anyone getting that plan unless all they need is to check their email.

I also hope that if they do charge you overage charges, that it tells you when you have reached 250 mbs. It would suck to not realize you went over and be stuck with a huge bill at the end of the month.
