I honestly believe that UPS wasn't ready for such a big job. The Apple Rep I spoke with today said as much, although those words were mine and not heres. She did say that they (UPS) were either lagging or not able to accurately report tracking information for so many pre order shipments.
That's BS. UPS World processes 1.2 million packages a day in Louisville. The iPad sold about 300,000 MAX in the pre-sale. Thats only 3% of what goes through that facility.
