Is it normal for it to lose about 3% in 8 hours, without being waken once? (Push email is off)

Are you sure you don't have push notifications turned on? I'm referring not e-mail push, but App push. I definitely do not lose 3% in 8 hours. Maybe in a day, but not 8 hours.

Has this happened many times? Or did you just happen to notice it dropped 3% in 8 hours once? If it only happened once, I wouldn't sweat it. Check the drain over the period of 24 hours (assuming you can put it down for that long :)) to see if it is really that high.

In use - every 6 minutes should lose 1% if you're getting 10 hrs of usage.

In "sleep" I'm not sure. But the best advice is if you're so concerned about 3% in 8 hours is to turn off your percentage meter.

Because I still think it's pretty darn good for any device like this to get 11.1 days (33.3 x 8 hours) of standby.

That would not be right if you believe Apple's claim of 30 standby.

30 what? Units are important.

3% in 8 hours is 12% in 32 hours... or a total standby time of around 10-11 days.

I checked the iPad site, and didn't see any specs for battery time on standby. Where's your info from?

I'm losing 10% an hour while in heavy use at about 85% brightness and not even 1% while in stand by for 8 hours. I'm very pleased!

I have push notifications and push enabled for both Mobile Me and Exchange... mine will rarely loose a percentage point when in sleep mode for 8-10 hours.

I get 5 days or MORE of my average use off on once full charge. This includes WiFi always on, bluetooth on, and two hours or so a day connected to a TV via the component out video cables. I leave auto brightness on with the brightness slider set to 1/3 or so.

Battery life is beyond amazing, both while in use, and while asleep.
