I haven't personalized an iPad since my Mini 4 (which was a couple of iPads ago for me), and I sort of miss it. Might personalize my next.

I'm just wondering if anyone has an engraving that they would like to share.

My Mini 4 read:
"Those who know, do.
Those who understand, teach."

I might use that again. (I'm a teacher).

P.S. Don't bother telling me that engraving lowers the resale value because...

a) I don't worry about resale value. I give away my old devices to friends and family as often as I sell them.

b) It's not necessarily true. My Mini 4 with the engraving above is one of the devices I did sell, and it didn't affect what the buyer was willing to pay for it.

Engraving does impact apple support to some extent though, like replacing would not be an option. But it depends on region. In Australia you can no longer replace a personalised device within 14 day window and repair option is somewhat limited.

Okay, that's a fair point, but don't be a spoilsport! :p

*Edit*
Actually, I can't find anything in the Canadian or US return or repair policy that says anything about engravings affecting anything.

For our first iPads we bought I engraved both. Mine had a problem and I had to replace it. My wife ended up using hers for years. We gave it to family. Since it had a case on it really wasn’t a big issue or worth it in my opinion. I’d rather do something special that is visible more than not. We haven’t engraved since.

I expect a generic engraved message is a lot more acceptable than something super personalized like names.

That said, I use cases so that's what I personalize and not the device itself.
