I've been originally looking for an iPad to use Avid Control for Pro Tools and tried to spend as few money as possible but I noticed that going for example for the regular iPad from 2022 seems to be wasted money because it still has the screen without lamination, the old A14 chip, 64 GB of storage, 4 GB of ram, just USB 2 connection speed but I still have to pay 350 for it new.
Going for outdated models like the 2021 isn't really an option for me due to the design and lightning port.
The Air M2 would come with the laminated screen, fast transfer speeds, powerful M2 chip, 8 GB of ram, 128 GB of storage and way more compatibility.
Now the Mini could've been a nice in between minus the A17 but I can get the Air for 600, which is just 40 bucks more expensive than the Mini and is much better overall.
Is Apple's intention to make everything below the Air pointless? Am I missing something?
I originally just wanted to get an iPad to control my DAW but seeing how much I already spend on the regular iPad with the features it's giving me and how much the better models are, it does seem like I'm wasting money getting the regular iPad / the new Mini?
Anyone else here using a tablet to control their DAW?
