I'm having trouble justifying buying my father an iPad for Father's Day. He has an iPod that he runs with, he has plenty of books, so he reads a lot. He's in his mid 50s and he's kind of tech savvy. What points should I use to show him this is something he would use?

If you're buying it for him I'm sure he'll get plenty of use out of it. Justifying is if you can afford it or not.

We got my Dad an iPad and he absolutely loves it. He has read more books in the last two months than in the last ten years. He loves reading the news, checking the weather, reading information about the World Cup, checking his work email, etc. He's retired but still comes to work every day (we own our own company) and he's in his 70's. I don't think that we could pry his iPad away from him at this point, especially since we upgraded him to the 3G model and gave the wifi version to my Mom.

Good luck!
Sandy
