I just purchased a iPad Generation 9. I bought a good case for it. Do i really need a screen protector?

short answer: There is nothing inherent in the 9th gen screen that would require a protector any more/less than any other iPad.

longer answer: It depends. Questions to consider...

Have you bought iPads in the past?
Have you used screen protectors on those iPads?
If so, how was your experiences with or without them?
Did use an Apple Pencil or other styli with them?

I've been using matte screen protectors on my iPads (Mini, Pro, base) for quite a few years. The 9th gen is my daily iPad.

I like that it reduces glare, reduces the appearance of fingerprint smudges, offers a more consistent resistance on the screen when using the Pencil or my finger. And because of the properties of the matte finish on the protector, it reduces the appearance of the air gap on non-laminated screens (like the 9th gen).

Most cases have a small ridge just slightly above the screen. 9 times out of 10, if you ever do have your iPad fall face flat, it will just leave a ding on the case. If you're accident prone, a screen protector may be a worthy investment.

My iPad 9 has a otterbox case and it has a plastic built in screen protector on it . I think all devices like iPhones and iPads should have a protective case and a screen protector it’s better to be safe than sorry if you know what I mean.
