I have a iPad Air 5th gen 256 cellular and it has liquid damage would Apple replace it or repair it and I don’t have Apple unfortunately and I’m willing to pay what ever I have to without buying a whole new one

If you don't have Apple Care as it seems you stated then they will NOT cover accidental damage due to liquids. They will repair it but you will have to pay for whatever they determine is affected but the accidental damage.

If you bought the Air with a credit card some credit cards will give you additional warranty protection, sometimes even including accidental coverage. Or if you have homeowners insurance some will cover accidental damage to items you own. Might be a good idea to check with your credit card company if purchased through a credit card or homeowners insurance if you have it.

Sorry for your loss. I hate when these kind of things happen.
