I am curious if anyone has tried the iTunes remote on the iPad and what their thoughts are on it? I've tried it on the iPod touch and thought it wasn't bad, but it did tend to lag a bit which I found took away from its usefulness. Is the interface of the remote closer to the desktop/laptop version of iTunes or closer to the iPhone/Touch interface?

A more technical question as well. Does the remote communicate through Airport or can it be added as a bluetooth device (like a wireless mouse)? I don't remember reading that it would be a bluetooth device, but if by chance it did, it seems like this might cure the lag issue with the remote app.

Unfortunately there is no iPad version of iTunes Remote (yet). You can use the iPhone/Touch version, but like all iPhone-specific apps it's formatted for the iPhone and looks terrible on the iPad.

There have been rumors of an iPad specific app because people noticed that the iPad is now listed alongside iPhone and Touch in the Options menu where it asks if you want to be able to use those devices as remotes for iTunes.

I'm very disappointed that this hasn't arrived because the iPad has a lot of potential for this (and I control my music this way).

I'm hoping for a revamped iPod app that also integrates the Remote as well as iTunes Sharing. Maybe in OS4?
