Does the iPad hotspot have a time limit. When I connect to my iPad hotspot via my iPhone it connects, But when I put the iPhone down for a few minutes and it goes to sleep, the phone disconnects and the hotspot disappears.

I need to futz around in settings again to get the hotspot to show up as it doesn't even appear when I do a wifi search.

Wait, so wifi hotspot disables itself after 30 seconds of inactivity? Correct me if i'm wrong?

This is why we jailbreak, because Apple neglects to put simple, simple settings into iOS. The iPad side-switch controversy is another example, but they were successfully pressured into adding a toggle between rotation lock/mute functions.

And on the iPhone it's a pain, the hotspot goes off but the slider stays on! Needing an off - on to get it going again

Yeah that's what I meant by having to futz around in the settings menu.

Does bluetooth not cut off after a minute of inactivity?

I think he meant 1 to 2 minutes not half a minute.

Out of curiosity, are you using an iPhone X? My iPhone X drives me crazy! Can't keep a connection for more than 2 minutes whatever I connect to the phone with (MBP, iMac, PC, Apple TV etc.)

At the time probably not. It was 2012 when I last posted here. I had the X though. But I'm on the 11 now. I've had the least amount of problems with the 11 so far... but it's still new so who knows if that'll keep up.

Hotstop on iOS has always been like this. It'll stay on in the settings, but you'd have to reconnect to it. As others said, due to inactivity.
