I got a 3g ipad and want to put it in my car for pandora, maps, etc. how much will 2g get me is there a chance that i could go over?

It will get you 2 GB worth. Yes there is a chance you will exceed your data limit.

iPad for maps

We've used quite a bit of our data when driving in the car and using the iPad for Google maps. (On the other hand, we bought the unlimited data plan, so we are not very worried about that.) The iPad works as a great GPS for us. Good luck to you!

2GB is a fair amount for a smartphone as web browsing on a 3.5" screen is seen as toture to some. But it is an unrealistic amount for the iPad. I am interested to see how the class action suite against Apple and AT&T on the bait and switch will turn out.
