Going to London on Thursday, 8th of July, hoping to pick up an iPad as well - anyone know if any Apple stores have any iPads in stock?

I know they are out of iPhone 4s... :/

The apple store in Westfield was completely sold out on Saturday. So I then went to PC World Brentford and they had everything in stock. HTH

I was in the Regent Street store earlier, looked like they had them in stock, saw one or two people buying them. However they may have pre-ordered but I am pretty sure they just bought them there and then.

Thank you for your swift responses - looks like PC World have a few wifi iPads in stock, looking for a 3G but wifi will do.

Will probably check out Regent Street first.

I bought a 16 GB 3G at Currys Digital in Oxford Street last Friday. They had some 16 GB 3Gs and some 64 GB wifis (plus one 32 GB wifi) in stock.

Both the Apple Store in Regent Street and an Apple retailer I visited (also Friday) had longer waiting list than expected shipments...

Apple Store in Regent street had even sold out all their iPad AppleCare plans, so I had to go back to Currys for that, too... :D

any camera kits spotted?

Apple Store had a lot of iPad accessories in stock...but I cannot say I saw the camera kit.

Take this for what it is: I'm not 100% sure since I wasn't looking for any accessories, camera kit or other...

Thank you, will try Currus Digital first then. Everythings crossed.
Dixon's (the tax free shopping chain) at Gatwick also had a few 16 GB 3Gs in stock, BTW. But - after the VAT return under the "tax free for tourist" scheme - the Dixon one was about £50 cheaper...

If you're from within the EU, and are flying home, a call to the Dixon's at the airport you're flying home from might be worth it though...they'll reserve it for you if they have any... ;)

Reserved one at the Regent St. store. Sales staff told me the waiting times would be a lot less then the 7-10 days of an online order.
If you see people leaving the store with iPad boxes it's reserved pick-ups.

Currys on Oxford St. probably had some today, but I avoid their shady sales staff at all costs. I rather wait.

Edit: In addition to what Mitthrawnuruodo said, I several iPad accessories on monday, but no camera kit.

That would be perfect, I'm in and out Stockholm-London-Stockholm through Heathrow, and they have a Dixon on each terminal = will definitely call them tomorrow and check the availability. Thank you very much!

Are there any other stores than Apple, Curry and PC World selling iPads in UK?
Square (This is the retailer I talked about earlier, just around the corner from Currys, more or less...they were expecting a considerable shipment this week, but they had a long waiting list, and the shipment was to be divided up among all the branches.)

Thank you very much!
No problem. Have a nice trip to London. :)

Seems like it might be possible to get an iPad on Thursday - impossible to get an iPhone 4, right?

I mailed Square yesterday evening, and got a response today. Phoned them, and paid for a iPad 3G - picking it up tomorrow! :-D Thank you very much for the tip!

I used PC World and Curry's online stock checker on Monday and had a selection of locations in London to choose from for my 64Gb 3G.

I wouldn't get too up in arms about the staff there. After all it is the as doing an online purchase - you are buying a known device in a sealed box... it could be a DVD/CD/Packet of sweets you are buying.

I walked in - handed over my printed reservation number, they went and got it, i paid, i left.

Done and dusted in 5 minutes.

The only bit they did try to talk to me about was 3G Micro Sims - fortunately this I had squared away before hand.

But if you really want one and want to go to a store knowing they have stock and knowing they have one for you - that is your best option.
