Were our reservations for naught? The Columbus, OH Apple Store apparently is advertising that all iPads are "first come, first served" in their windows.

Just ******** if so.

Yeah, it seems likely it doesn't apply to people who reserved. A quick phone call to the store should be able to confirm, though.

I heard you'll have to fight for it. Last man standing. Weapons are allowed. No weight classes. No age classes. Men, women, and children.

Watch out for people following you leaving the store.

Ah, Black Friday at Walmart. Good times.

It might be to get people to goto the store, other than those who reserved. When a sign says first come first serve, its meant to stir something up. I honestly don't think it means you lose your reserve. Instead of confirming it with a image, make a call like a previous poster stated, it makes life so much easier and you will be able to sleep tonight.

Are there still pre orders? I'm not sure I understand what the OP is trying to say. It's first come first served everywhere else too

I think he/she is concerned that somehow 'sign in local store window' defeats 'already have reservation for pickup'.

Unless you live in a small town I wouldnt just show up and expect to get one. Likely the reservations have covered all the stock.

Your only hope is to be in line at 3pm when they sell the one's that people reserved but didnt pick up on time.

I got my iPhone 3GS through in store reservation. As long as you're there before 3 and reserved you will get the iPad you reserved no matter what. When I got there there were 2 kines, reservations and non-reservations. Apple was not allowing anyone in the store if you weren't getting an iPhone 3GS. While I was waiting the Apple reps said they had completely sold out of white 32GB iPhone 3GS' (the one I reserved). I was a little nervous hearing that. I was told by an Apple rep that my iPhone 3GS was on the back of the store reserved.

Long story short, if you reserved and get there before 3 you have nothing to worry about.

do u remember how long u had to wait?

Yes, I didn't go to the Apple Store when they opened. I went in the afternoon. There were about 10 people in the reservation line, around 50 people in the line for those who just showed up to buy an iPhone 3GS.

My total time waiting and purchasing the iPhone 3GS was about 30 minutes. AT&T's servers were crashing when the Apple rep tried to activate my iPhone 3GS. It finally went through

I'm sure it will be far less waiting because Apple doesn't have to activate an iPad like they had to with the iPhone 3GS.
