I have mobile phone insurance on my iPhone 4 with my bank (LloydsTSB) and I am able to add a second handset to my insurance at no extra cost and it's cover is up to £2,500 which is more than the iPhone 4 and iPad combined.

My question is, does anyone think I could add my iPad to this policy as I know it's not technically a phone but it is the 3G model so it does have a SIM card and subsequently has a mobile number.

I'm not sure but very much doubt it. I have the phone insurance via my Lloyds account, and when looking on the insurance site there is reference to a gadget insurance. I would guess an iPad would have to be covered by such as this. Unfortunately it says you can no longer take this cover out if you aren't an existing policy holder. Probably worth firing off the question to them, you may be pleasantly surprised

I didn't know they had 'gadget' insurance. I will probably end up calling them and asking them if I can do it anyways. Was hoping someone else would have tried to do this already.
