Ipad ios update

Hello , I just buyed a 9.7 ipad and it came out of the box with ios 11.4.1 should I update to ios 12.1.1 ??

If both devices are using the same version it works better. Also, if you have iOS 12 you can hold your new iPad next to your iPhone and use the settings from your iPhone. I've noticed when you're not using the same IOS version, something things don't sync well. For instance if you add a Contact to one, the other may not receive the update.

NP I used my iPhone to set up my iPad. Its the quickest set up that Apple has had so far. Really easy transition.
