Am I missing something or is this extremely barebones? It kind of looks like iTunes (which would be great) but doesn't have any of the views that the real iTunes has, and not even CoverFlow which the iPod and iPhones have. Am I missing that?

I would really like to create Smart Playlists on the device, among other things.

The biggest thing though would be iTunes Sharing so when I am home I can access my real iTunes library without having to sync everything over.

Maybe they are waiting to release iTunes X to really spruce things up...?

It's probably much closer to iPhone iPod app without coverflow. Just like this whole device is more like a bigger iPhone/iPod touch as opposed to smaller laptop :rolleyes:
 
Well I don't care to debate whether the iPad is more like a laptop or a large iPod Touch.

However, I don't understand why they wouldn't make better use of album art. The iPod app looks pretty sad compared to, for example, the iTunes store on the iPad.
 
It also needs for video out to work. with coverflow/ album art/ song info like "FrontRow" on the mac.
 
So just to confirm, there is no CoverFlow on the iPad? I'm not just missing it?
Seems strange...
 
I really dislike how whenever you play a song in the iPod app, the album art comes up fullscreen... Really wish there were a way to turn this off.
 
For crying out loud, Apple, add scrolling text to the iPad/iPhone. Please. This should have been available on the 2G iPhone almost three years ago. I want to be able to see the full title of my songs.
 
They should also combine the video and iPod app, ala the iPhone's iPod.
