Apparently, there are many users who are not exactly very positive about the iPad.
Firstly, the Apple stock value has fallen quite significantly, although Dow and Nasdaq stayed more or less the same. Of course, random walk occurs in the markets, however, one would not expect to see such drop in the price of a company, that has reported record Q earnings and introduced it's "magical" and "revolutionary" device.
Furthermore, nearly all reports about iPad here, on MacRumors.com, have received very negative ratings by users. For example, the report on iPad announcement has 1:2 pos:negative rating as of 1am, GMT, Sat 30th. Note, that at this point lack of Flash was not yet been a widey known issue.
Other reports have even worse ratings. This has happened before with numberous reasons (for example, when Apple announced new 13 and 15" unibody laptops, but forgot about 17" model. It was 1:3 then)
Why might this be so? Personaly, I think, that iPad is just an ultimate gadget , or a fancy toy, if you like. People were expecting MacPro, MacBook Pro and other more proper hardware announcements. It does not mean, that iPad is doomed (in fact, I am sure, that it will be the next uber best seller), but it sends a clear message to Apple, that users still need Apple products for serious work.
