iPad keeps asking me for the iTunes password

Some days ago I had the problem that when I wake my iPad from sleep mode I got asked for the iTunes password or when I start the Appstore/iTunes I also got asked for the password. Then I read on the internet that this is a common problem because some downloads can be unfinished and you have to connect with iTunes and finish all downloads. All I did was updating all my Apps, rebooting my iPad and I did not receive the password prompt anymore.

Now I suddenly got the same problem again. I also updated all my apps and rebooted the iPad but it did not solve the problem this time.

What can I do?

Means something that needed a password to download didn't and its asking every time. For me its usually some bit of free music or video I was downloading in iTunes that never completed and if I go in and force it to complete then the problem goes away.

Occasionally its an app that got stopped part way - look through your apps for a greyed out icon that says 'paused' under it and click it to allow the update procedure to complete.

I have this problem as well It started to ask for the password about a week ago, I can't remember me downloading a app that didn't Install correctly. I've synced with my iTunes several times, but the problem persists... It's really bugging me!

The solution:

A) check if there is any paused app. Go over each app and see if it is paused and continue downloading it.

B) go to iTunes and see if there is anything downloading. Continue it.

C) go to the iBooks and make sure you continue downloading winnie the pooh or any other book downloading.

D) buy me a beer.

Mine's doing that also. I've deleted the few books I'd downloaded, podcasts and a few apps hoping that would stop the pop up but it hasn't. I went into settings, did a combo of sign outs, sign ins, etc to no avail. I could try to delete a few more apps, but there are no greyed icons or status bars. I wonder if it's time to call apple?

Thanks. I was having the same problem, and it appears to have been a itunes download that I had paused and forgotten about.

Can you see these downloads? I've looked through iTunes for any files (books, apps, videos) that may not have downloaded and none look obvious. I know there was one video that didn't download because I was on 3G instead of WIFI and it hung up on loading, so I just deleted it from my downloads under iTunes on my iPad. Would it still be "hidden" somewhere? And if so, where would I find it to cancel it completely (or any others for that matter)?

This is good advice. I was having the same trouble, as described in this thread. The answer was to persist in finding the application that had not finished downloading. My experience in the end is described in the last post in that thread - I had an app that attempted to download to my iPad as an update, but the update works only on iOS4. Until I let that finish downloading in iTunes and unchecked it there and then synced my iPad again, that annoying password thing kept up. It's never returned since I eliminated the offending application, which has another update pending to allow it on iOS3.2.

Same here, but it only askes for my US account password, not my swedish.
