So this is annoying. I keep my iPad at 80-90% and next day I open it and its dead. This used to happen for me back with smart covers whenever the smartcover does not completely close it stays on and eventually dies.

I tested and opened the iPad cover it does not auto turn on now. I have to turn it on with the touchID button. Any idea what is triggering this iPad to open and stay open until the battery eventually dies out?

ironically. Even my macbook does the same thing. I close the lid, come back the next day and its completely dead. Both do it randomly!?

For the iPad, I’d first test without any covers to see if the auto lock settings work by themselves. Then test with the cover afterwards and compare.

I suspect the screen has something on it that will react with smartcover inner materials. i use magic keyboard folio, and whenever there’s a YouTube video playing and I press the folio a bit hard, either current video jumps forward or backward randomly, or another video will be played instead of the one I’m listening.

Clean your iPad screen regularly. This could improve “ghost touch” situation. As for Mac, maybe regularly clean the keyboard and screen as well, tho I never truly encounter the issue you described.
