ipad lock screen & pictures

my ipad simply won't display anything on the lock screen.. tried after a hard reset..nothing.

also, it takes forever when you go to settings and click on picture frame. all the other settings are fine, but if you click on picture frame it just freezes..

so far iOS 5 has made my ipad almost unusable due to these and other things like stalling my computer, syncs not working, etc..
