It seems like there may need to be some tweaks to the in app-purchase model for magazine subscriptions to work. I for one would like to see a way of storing mags off the iPad as I don-t want too many issues of Wired at 300-500 MB a time filling up my iPad. I wonder if Apple will make a magazine store in the manner of iBooks or add an update to iBooks to make it work with magazine subscriptions.

Different apps/publications/companies seem to use different models. I think everybody's experimenting to find the best approach, which is annoying to the end user for now. My pref is straight via-iTunes in-app purchase rather than, say, Zinio's clunky website.

Anyone figured out a way to delete old Wired issues from the app?

I posed that question on another thread and nobody was able to answer it. The only solution I can think of is to completely delete the app and reinstall it.

yeah, i think it'll suck until itunes has it's own sub store, prolly won't happen though.

zinio is for sure clunky. Every time the app opens and I see that little vid it drives me crazy for some reason.

I personally love Zineo and got a few subs at a really reasonable price ($7-9 for a year). It keeps my subs on its website so I can delete them off my iPad when I don't want them on there anymore. I don't know if there is a way to actually download them onto my computer for viewing or not.

I think u can. I only view it on my portables but I thought I read somewhere that it is possible

Some users of the Zinio app for iPad have complained that with the app installed, the back up of iPad takes FOREVER!

Could anyone here comment on that?
