hi everyone.

I'm currently converting my van into a camper and want to make a custome steep dash which holds an iPad mini.

I don't want to spend a huge amount so looking to get a 16gb iPad mini wifi. Then expand the storage externally.

Just wondering what other people are using to do so ? Iv read the most effective way is wifi/cloud storage. It will mainly be used for films and music.

As far as I know the only way to connect an external hard drive to an iPad is with an external that has built in wifi. You cannot connect a drive with just USB to lightning or anything like that. Also, the only thing you can load off the drive is media (music/movies). You cannot boot up apps or anything.

I’m guessing it’ll be plugged in and so the lightning port won’t be available?

On the off chance the port is available, there are drives available.

No, I don't think so. You cant plug it into the iPad like that. I believe the wireless drives make a wifi signal and then you connect it to the iPad with your wifi. That is the only way to do it I believe. You can't expand the memory by connecting anything to it directly, as far as I know......

The drive that KrisLord linked works just fine. I have one and use it regularly. There is an associated app that you have to use that supports importing and exporting data from an iOS device.

It should also be natively supported by Infuse.
