Hi,
I have an iPad 4 mini and I couldn't install anything because 6 gigs of space was being used by "other" under "General -> iPad Storage".
I called apple and the tech asked me to backup my iPad, then "reset and erase all content" and then restore.

The other was gone.
I had 6gig out of 16gig used.

Then I upgrade to iOS 14.4 and the "other" is back.
It was at 8 gig out of 16 gig so I figured at least its gone.

About an hour later,
I'm now at using 13g out of 16 gig and it slowly keeps increasing!

I haven't done anything.

How do I get rid of this "other"?

The link you sent me is for MacBook Pro,
I'm on the latest IOS 14.4 and iPad mini 4.
I didn't see any help for my configuration?

The link posted is less than helpful. It applies to devices under 13.6.1 and all it does say is to update. OP is on 14.4
Sorry about the iOS link. I see now that it's not relevant to 14.4. But the point about the first link is that there are many threads here on MacRumors relating to other storage, for Macs and iOS devices. If you search for iOS Other storage, you will find threads related to this, although they may not be specifically for iPad Mini 4 and iPadOS 14.4.

As you know, it "includes caches, logs and other resources currently in use by the system. This value will fluctuate according to system needs." On my iPad on 14.4, I've seen it in the 6-8GB range most of the time, but sometimes it drops down in the 4GB range.

I feel like I'm getting cheated on my disk space.
I'm not even using the iPad except for browsing and a few apps like zoom and notes.

Anyone else feel this way?

Considering the OS takes up anywhere from 6.5-8.5gb of space, a device with 16gb total storage is always going to be against a wall. My devices hover around 4-6gb of "other" and as the forum member above you stated it includes caches, logs and other resources being used by the system.. 16gb just isn't enough anymore..
