iPad iPad mini 5 Vs iPad 9

My final comparison question please.

I have found a deal where I can get the iPad mini 5 with 64g for £349. Would you pick that up Vs the new iPad 9 for £319?

To be clear I am looking for the best bang for buck/ iPad experience for no more than £400. Also needs to be an iPad that supports the apple pencil 1 as I already have one.

Are you looking for Wi-Fi only? Apple refurb store had it for £339 I thought, which is as good as new with a changed battery etc. I would be hesitant of something you don't know the history of. But maybe the one you've found is a stock clearance and brand new, in which case there are no major downsides as far as the unit goes.

The laminated screen probably is worth the trade off of a 1 gen older chip, the question really becomes do you find the 7.9in big enough for what you want to use the pencil for?

I've never used Apple pencil but have always thought I'd prefer a larger screen if I did. Do you have an Apple Store near you where you could try out the pencil on the iPad 9 and see if the non-lamination bothers you.

Bear in mind that if you don't have AC+, a non-laminated is cheaper to have repaired should you break the screen.

Surely which size screen you want is most important which also boils down to what you're mainly going be using it for

For example : Your not going to want the small mini screen if using it mainly for watching movies or at a desk

THIS is the deciding factor... everything else is secondary.

IMO, given the choice between a Mini 5 and iPad 9, you'll end up with a winner regardless of which one you choose.

Good point, knowing what you want and need is a great start when purchasing anything.
