iPad iPad Mini 6 - Additional Storage

Hi!

I’m looking to turn my iPad mini into my car head unit. I know you can add storage to aniPad but can I add say an SSD that Apple Music can make use of? Keen to be able to download lots of tracks and on top of my navigation software will quickly eat up available storage. I’m just struggling to find any info on if Apple Music downloads will also use the extra storage?

Apple Music downloads are stored within the Music app and can't be put on an SSD.
