For all you iPad mini 6 owners:

Anyone else getting a louder-than-average keyboard clicking noise intermittently? When typing, occasionally I’ll get 2-3 really loud keyboard clicks (as if the volume were at max—I understand system volume shouldn’t affect how loud the keyboard clicks are, but that’s how loud these extraneous pops are). It only happens occasionally… a few times per day, perhaps.

I haven’t noticed any other audio problems, but I also don’t use the audio much. Trying to figure out if this is a hardware defect.

Already on the fence about returning it… maybe this will be the nail in the coffin, unless it’s a common software bug.

It’s normal. My iPhone 12 has the same issue as well as my iPad Pro 11 inch M1. Even my iPhone 7 Plus has it before I traded it in for my iPhone 12. It’s likely a software bug that Apple did not fix for a while.

I have this issue with all my iOS devices to some degree throughout various versions of iOS.
