Very straight forward set up. Download Nugget or build it for your respective platform. Fetch config from device. Use nugget to modify and push config to device. Nugget reboots your device. Stage manager enabled. This will NOT persist through OS updates. You will need to remain on 18.1 to use this. All steps can be found on the GitHub page.

Edit:

Works with USB C docks. Keyboard, headphones, trackpad, HDMI all wired in work as expected. It is NOT mirroring. Proper SM.

SM can be turned off by selecting either none or split screen in the multitasking setting.

Undoing can be done through Nugget or updating your devices OS.

Does this enable external display support too?
It does indeed.

I just plugged my Mini 7 into a QGeem 7 in 1 USB C Hub, the hub has power pass through, a wired keyboard, a wired track pad - connected via HDMI to a 1080p monitor. All functions as one would expect.

It’s too bad it’s not native to the mini. Thanks for checking!

I'm not sure you'd want it for much else! Stage Manager is bad enough on an 11" iPad; I can only imagine how terrible it would be on an 8" screen.

Some apps do not allow for splitscreen but SM enables me to bypass this limitation - is the main reason I am using this.

Do you get the the same experience. for example with an IPP M4 11", when connecting to an external display i.e no black bars and whole screen is filled ?

Yeah I certainly wouldn’t use it on the iPad display itself. I just want something I can easily bring along with me in my purse that I can dock to my desk at home or at work. Ideally, that’d be my iPhone. But I’d settle for an iPad mini

Ah ok, that makes sense. iPhone apps perform better in little windows too.

@gupe Is it is easy to undo and get back your iPad Mini to without Stage Manager? If so, can you briefly say how?

I think you can use Nugget to reset the config and undo this.

This doesn’t persist through OS updates so if a newer os is out you can proceed there.

Also you are able to pick from none, split screen or stage manager for your multitasking method of choice. See attached.

Yeah I pretty much am just using the iPad to run two phone apps side by side. It’s what I want my device to do. I will be extremely bummed if I ever need to update and this is patched. The only viable alternative in the US is a Samsung Active Tab5 which is neat on paper - but I can’t get over CPU nor the build.
