offline map + real gps is the break point for me, I will get a nexus 7 to replace my old garmin gps.
If iPad mini's hardware is not less than ipad2 and the price is right, I will get one also maybe.

Everybody will have a phone with him, why you need all your devices have cellular capability?Does the Nexus 7 even have cellular capability yet?

if the iPad Mini never comes out...chances are i will then buy a Nexus 7 that i can throw into my Camelbak when i go riding. the iPad doesn't fit

Same here. I've got a LOT of iOS apps so for me adding a iPad mini is worth whatever small premium I need to pay.
