Is the Apple Smart Cover for the first gen (non-retina) mini the same as the one now being sold for the retina mini? Sorry if this has already been answered, but the search function is down.

I asked in another thread and some helpful person said the old cover will fit the new retina.
The compatibility section on the new cover also says it fits the original mini, so I guess it works the other way around?
My $9 Poetic case/cover from my Mini1 fits my Mini2 but doesn't seem very secure on the snap in corners. It will do until I get my $10 Poetic Mini2 case next week from Amazon. Hopefully it won't smell like rotting meat for 2 weeks like the first one did. I guess that's why they call the cheap cases "P.U." Leather aka vinyl.
