Just ordered an iPad Mini, and since we have an iPad 3, and iPhone 4S, the charger confusion begins!

1. Is there an Apple car charger for the Mini?

2. Maybe I should just buy the Lightning to 30 pin connector will will allow us to use all the 30 pin chargers we currently have? Cost- $30; However, I see Griffin has a car charger for the Mini for $25, so maybe that's better than spending $30 for the 30 pin connector.

What have you guys been doing?

A lot of the car chargers I have, the cord plugs via usb into the part that goes into the dashboard. If you have those, you can just plug your lightning cord into that, right?

My car charger -- don't recall what brand it is now -- is one which is easy to change the cables, so I keep a 30-pin cable AND a "lightning" cable in the car so that whichever device needs charging will be good to go. Yes, the USB end on either cable plugs into the USB port on the charger itself, which plugs into the dashboard. I first ran into this after buying the iPhone 5, took a look at the car charger I already had, realized all I needed was an extra "lightning" cable, so now I'm all set and can charge the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini with the lighting cable plugged into the charger or can swap out cables and plug in the 30-pin one for the older iPad if need be.

i bought a USB car charger for my cigarette lighter from monoprice for under $5 and bought an extra lightning cable to plug into that...

Hardwire to a car dock (for the iPhones anyway) but I'd suggest:
2.1A dual USB car charger. Plug in whatever cable for whatever device.

This thread seems a bit redundant with your other thread on car chargers. Is it too much to ask for you to consolidate your threads? :D
