Hello,
is it possible to download app in an ipad mini 1? Whart are the requirements?

Best regards,

Borja

some apps can´t be downloaded because i cannot update the iOs. can i update the great majoriy of the apps?

Ah I see. That completely depends on which apps you use and what’s the lowest version of OS the developers support. We can’t answer that here.

Its a solution to the OPs problem?

But why would I not just simply open the App Store and check on the device that is a bit older to see if the app I’m after is available? What am I downloading via the purchased section that I am not able to download regularly? It certainly won’t offer me an app that’s not compatible anymore via that route as it won’t work. As far as I remember the purchased section is to download apps that officially are no longer available to new customers for purchase.

For certain apps, being downloaded from the Purchased list will bring up a prompt to download the latest compatible version of the app for the iOS the user is on. This has been the case since iOS 4. Certain developers intentionally disable this for their app though, so it's not 100% certain to work.

And you’re not going to get the compatible version displayed otherwise in the App Store? I revived a few things from there but cannot remember to ever see a prompt like the one you describe. Interesting! Thanks for the context.

Yes, that is what I was trying to suggest. Thank you for the clarification. :)
